How does a Newborn session work?

For brand-new moms and dads it can be a challenge to get out of the house, so I’ll just come to your place to take the pictures. You don’t have to worry about anything, I’ll bring everything we need; Props, accessories, cloths and wraps, you name it!

For best results I prefer to take the pictures when your child is between 4 and 21 days old. It’s nice for the baby when the house is well heated, a comfortable temperature would be around 24 or 25 degrees. Do you want to photograph the little one without clothes? Then take off the clothing for the last feeding before the shoot and wrap your baby in a warm cloth.

I’ll be with you for about 2 to 3 hours so there’s plenty of time for feeding, cuddling or changing. In order not to give your baby too many stimuli or stress it is useful to have as few baby visitors as possible during the shoot. Your baby decides how the session will go, we don’t force the baby to take poses he or she doesn’t like.

What clothes should I wear?

Try to wear clothes that don’t distract. No busy prints or very bright colors. All attention is on you, not on your clothes. Above all, choose something you feel good about. Pastel shades, for example, will make the photo a little calmer than bright colours.

Do you have doubts or are you going to take pictures with more than one person? Bring some extra clothes so that colour and style can be matched. Our goal is to make photograph pictures of you as a whole.

What should we bring to the Cake Smash session?

The cake! I’m not very good at baking myself ????

It is also useful to bring clean diapers, wipes, a towel, an extra set of clothes and some toys. This way we get a happy baby on the picture. Remember that your own clothes will also get dirty!

What should I bring to my pregnancy shoot?

What are your wishes and what mood do you want to create? That’s what it’s all about. In my studio there are several clean cloths and dresses, they can be used free of charge. It’s good to discuss in advance what you would like.

Do you want to know exactly what I’ve got available? Call me or send me an e-mail with your question. If necessary, we’ll just make an appointment so you can come by and pick something out. Remember to wear loose-fitting clothing all day, we don’t want to have stretch marks on your belly or legs.

What is WeTransfer?

Wetransfer.com is a website that anyone can use to send large files safely, free of charge and quickly. After your shoot you will receive an email by WeTransfer, containing a link. With one click on this link you can download the photos directly to your tablet, computer or smartphone.

Always take care to save the received photos and make sure they are in a folder on your computer that is easy to find. Preferably also make a backup on an external hard disk in the right folder on a compute, the link of WeTransfer will disappear after 7 days.

What is the best way to reach Mayera Photography?

What are the opening hours of Mayera Fotografie?

Usually I photograph on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. Of course it is possible to deviate from these days, we can discuss this and find the right date and time. Evenings are usually no problem either.

For Sundays I have to change an additional € 30,- on top of the normal fee.

How can I pay?

The payment can be made by a Tikkie (Dutch payment request through online banking), regular bank transfer or simply in cash. For cash payment I do ask you to bring the exact amount, for safety reasons I do not carry change with me.

Are there any travel expenses?

Within Wijk bij Duurstede and surroundings I do not charge any travel expenses. For photos on location I charge  € 0,35 per kilometer.

Will my photos be posted online?

Mayera Fotografie reserves the right to place the photos online for social media and its own website.

Would you prefer the pictures not to be publish? No problem, just discuss this with me beforehand and I will keep this in mind.

When will I receive my photos?

When the payment is completed it will take a maximum of 3 days before you get the pre-selection of the photos. You will receive the size-reduced pictures via Wetransfer so that you can choose the ones that I will edit.

After you have made your choice it will take a maximum of 3 weeks until you receive the edited photos via Wetransfer. You will receive them in high resolution, in color and black and white, without watermark.

Can I cancel my appointment (e.g. in case of illness or bad weather)?

Can’t your photo shoot go ahead because somebody’s sick? Then the appointment can be cancelled free of charge if we pick a new date right away.

In case we have planned the photo shoot at an outdoor location and the weather is not optimal we will reschedule the shoot.

Do you want to cancel the photo shoot entirely? Then please do so at least 1 week in advance, otherwise I will have to charge 30% of the costs.

Do you also have gift vouchers available?

You can order vouchers of any desired amount. Normally I simply use my own rates for gift vouchers. Of course, you can also use any other amount you want. Don’t you live nearby? Then I will send the gift voucher free of charge.

Gift vouchers of Mayera Fotografie are always wrapped in festive packaging.

What about copyright/portrait rights?

You will receive the photos in high resolution via Wetransfer. You may reproduce these photos for your own use.

The use of these photos for e.g. commercial purposes is not allowed. However, the photos may be placed on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Please mention or tag Mayera Fotografie.

According to the law, the copyright on photos always belongs to the photographer, as long as no deviating agreement has been signed.

Can I get the unprocessed photos?

The unprocessed (and resized) photos will be sent to you within 3 days after the shoot. RAW files are not included. I consider these files to be my negatives. The photo shoot is of course all about the end result!
